Shri Pawan Kumar Kalarwal is an IRSSE officer (1999 batch) working as Director in Ministry of Power, Government of India. He has done Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jaipur and PG Diploma in Public Policy and Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. He has also studied in Maxwell School of Citizenship, Syracuse University, USA to pursue a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Public Administration. During his 20 years of service, he has worked in various capacities in Indian Railways and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd before coming to Ministry of Power to work as a Director in Thermal Division. In Ministry of Power he is looking after Formulation of Policy/Guidelines and other incidental works pertaining to Fuel Supply, Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicle (EVs), Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPP) and Thermal power projects of State Governments. He is also dealing with the environmental pollution control issues related to the coal based thermal power plants. He has been instrumental in formulation of Guidelines and Standards of Charging Infrastructure of Electric Vehicles.
